Coolsculpting
CoolSculpting® is a form of cryolipolysis, a non-surgical fat-reduction treatment using controlled cooling to help eliminate stubborn fat. There are other brands that are based on the science of cryolipolysis. These include CoolCrush® and CoolShaping®.
Cryolipolysis is commonly used for body contouring and not weight loss as it targets the fat deposits that are present under the skin on areas such as the thighs, stomach, flank (love handles/muffin top) and the upper arms.

What Is Coolsculpting?
CoolSculpting does not involve sedation, needles, or downtime. The treatment area is simply covered with a gel pad to protect the skin and a cooling applicator cup is applied.
There are different sized applicators to use depending on the treatment area, helping to create a vacuum on excess skin and underlying fat. This suctioned applicator then delivers controlled intense cooling conditions to eliminate fat cells.
Body regions where CoolSculpting is considered safe and effective for removing minor fat deposits include:
Abdomen
Thighs
Under the chin or upper neck
Flanks
Under the armpit
Back
Buttocks and under the buttocks
As the cooling begins during the first few minutes, you typically feel a combination of intense cold and a pulling or tugging sensation before the area goes numb in 5 to 10 minutes.
Each session lasts 35 minutes to an hour per treatment area. After the treatment, you may feel some tingling as the area is massaged for 2 or 3 minutes.
Once the fat cells are crystallised (frozen), they begin to die and are naturally broken down and consumed by your other cells.
This process is your body’s way of eliminating the dead cells from your body, and occurs over a period of 6-9 weeks.
It is generally recommended that to achieve the best results, patients undergo 2-3 sessions with a break of 30 days between sessions.
