Since the Izmir University Medical Centre was founded in 2014, it has treated more than 12 thousand patients from 77 different countries. The 46,000 square metre, JCI-accredited hospital has 244 beds, 78 intensive care beds, seven operating theatres for general surgery, and two more for cardiovascular surgery. In addition to its cardiology, neurology, gynaecology, and aesthetic and reconstructive plastic surgery departments, the Izmir University Medical Centre specialises in oncology, bone marrow and organ transplant, and microsurgery, among other fields.
